Hello and welcome to the first in a new series of PracticeEvolve newsletters. As we celebrate over 20 years in business, 2025 is set to be a particularly important year here at PracticeEvolve. 

In our years of operation, we've seen and been part of many innovations in the industry. From our initial case management product and the subsequent integration of accounting functionality in 2010 were milestones that solidified our role as a trusted partner for legal firms worldwide.  

Now, as we look ahead to 2025, two transformative technologies stand out: Cloud and AI. These are the pillars of our innovation strategy, and we're excited to integrate them into EvolvePlus, empowering you to work smarter, faster, and more securely. 

Cloud  

The transition to Cloud is no longer a choice; it's a necessity. Over the past 18 months, we redesigned the backend of EvolvePlus to run natively in the Cloud; leveraging Kubernetes and Microsoft Azure, to offer a secure environment with scalable performance. Today, over one-third of our users are benefiting from our Cloud, and we're eager to bring this to all firms.  

In 2025, we'll continue this Cloud transition with an emphasis on the client side EvolvePlus App, with a specific focus on the look and feel. Alongside this, we'll continue to enhance the product to ensure it meets the modern demands of your business. 

AI 

The last 12 months has seen an AI explosion in the legal industry, reaching levels of sophistication previously only ever imagined. While still at the early stages, we recognise our responsibility to be at the forefront of legal AI technology. 

Our transition to Cloud has allowed us to rapidly leverage AI, and we're excited to announce our AI reporting assistant, Eve, currently being piloted by a number of early adopter firms. Eve will become available as part of EvolvePlus later this year, bringing its powerful AI-driven insights to your business. 

SOC 2 Security and Compliance 

Being a Cloud company means the responsibility for security and compliance has grown considerably. As a consequence, in 2024 we initiated the process to achieve SOC2 Type 1 accreditation, which we successfully obtained in December 2024. This represents a significant milestone that underscores our commitment to safeguarding your data and growing as a company. 

2025 promises to be one of innovation and I want to thank you for being part of this journey. We are looking forward to sharing more exciting updates with you throughout the year.

SOC 2 (Service Organisation Control 2) is a globally recognised standard designed to evaluate an organisation's controls for managing customer data. By achieving Type 1 compliance, we've demonstrated that our systems and processes meet rigorous criteria for safeguarding sensitive information and delivering on the trust you place in us when we host your data in the Cloud.
