The Role
Over the last number of years, we have been transitioning from conventional Client/Server based products to Cloud. We are looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our emerging SRE team, to maintain and improve our internal Azure hosted Cloud hosted product. This is a permanent full-time position, focusing on our UK product initially.
Responsibilities
Reporting into the SRE Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the cloud hosted Practice Evolve products run efficiently and effectively, within our Azure hosting environment, ensuring best practice is implemented. You will liaise with the stakeholders to understand the business requirements and needs, translating these into technical solutions which ensure the service area continues to enable the company to achieve its targets and objectives.
Day to day duties
- Monitor and Maintain cloud hosted environment
- Respond to escalated support tickets, taking ownership through to resolution
- Work with stakeholders across the business to define, measure, maintain and improve:
- Service Level Objectives
- Performance benchmarks
- Response and Recovery Objects
- Uptime / Availability
- Recoverability
- Security
- Produce documentation and share knowledge across the teams
The ideal candidate will have experience in:
- Hosting in public cloud environments, preferably in Azure
- Docker/Kubernetes
- CI/CD processes, Git
- Managing a Microsoft server stack (Windows/SQL)
- Deployed software for an ISV (as opposed to in-house)
- Created/deployed/maintained scripts (e.g. Powershell/bash)
- Working autonomously and collaboratively
- Great communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team (we have flexible work arrangements and a global team)
